Take Care Sponsors the Blood Bank

The Suncoast Communities Blood Bank will be in the Take Care of Sarasota parking lot waiting for your to donate your blood! Please join us in reaching our goal of 15 donors. There will be a sign up sheet in the Sarasota office to schedule an appointment for Friday's blood drive. You do not have to sign up in advance, but it will make the donating process go faster so you are not waiting in line. It takes approximately 30 minutes of your time to donate blood. According to SCBB, one donation helps save up to three lives.

Take Care leads Caregiver Idol Workshop at USF STEM Summit

On Saturday, May 14, 2011, Penny Billings, RN, OCN, and Alicia Uelmen, RN led the "Caregiver Idol: Understanding Aging in Our Communities" workshop as part of USF Sarasota-Manatee's 3rd Annual S.T.E.M Summit. From the Sarasota Herald Tribune article: "Aiming for success in careers that once seemed out of reach for girls is exactly what is encouraged at the annual Girls S.T.E.M. Summit, which was Saturday at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee. The daylong event exposed nearly 150 middle school girls to studies and jobs in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics."
