Human Resources Manager – Sarasota Office

Take Care Private Duty Home Health Care is expanding its team and looking for a full-time Human Resources Manager. This position offers a rich benefits package and is based in our corporate office in Sarasota with some travel required to Venice, Manatee and Port Charlotte offices. This position is essential to helping us continue to maintain this stellar reputation and we are looking for an individual who will be responsible in leading and directing the day-to-day functions of the Human Resources department including recruitment, leave administration, and enforcing company policies and practices.

This Position Requires the Following Skills, Abilities, and Background/Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Human Resources.
  • Minimum two years experience in a human resources role preferably as a generalist.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR preferred.
  • Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the duties of the position.
  • Knowledge of human resource practices with the desire for further professional development within the field.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills using business acumen including the ability to use sound judgment.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in both oral and written form with the ability to ensure consistency through communications.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to organize and prioritize workload, meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, database management)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop positive working relationships and maintain a respectful work environment.
  • Ability to handle difficult conversations in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Strong customer service skills including the ability to respond to issues and concerns tactfully and professionally; and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Ability to establish trust and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to handle stress and stressful situations.

Purpose:

Required Education & Experience:

Essential Job Duties:

  • Supervise the day to day human resource functions by managing employee workflow, evaluating work performance and providing guidance and work direction to human resources staff. This includes conducting performance evaluations, coaching and counseling employees.
  • In conjunction with supervisor, manages the office talent acquisition process for non-exempt positions and includes conducting in person interviews, reference checks and hiring of qualified office job applicants, collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Provides oversight for field recruitment including providing back-up and assistance with field staff interviews and new hire paperwork as needed.
  • Supports benefits administration function to include participation in open enrollment planning and acts as back-up to HR/Benefits Generalist with conducting new hire benefits orientation, reconciliation of benefit invoices, and being a resource to employees on all benefit related questions.
  • Manage leave of absence program(s) by effectively interpreting federal and state regulations and insurance and internal policies as it relates to FMLA, ADA and applicable short-term and long-term disability plans. This includes managing pregnancy process and protocols for both field and office.
  • Assists supervisor with Worker’s Compensation administration by creating and monitoring incident reports, completing wage statement requests, and updating documentation. Will also be responsible for completing FROI in HR Director’s absence.
  • Assists with Performance Management: Coaches, counsels, and provides guidance to field employees and provide assistance to the HR director with office staff issues in order to improve performance, set, meet and exceed expectations and maintain a positive, respectful work culture and environment.
  • Works with other HR staff to conduct new hire orientations, update and manage on-boarding and mentoring programs.
  • Manage the day to day functions of the drug free workplace and drug testing program to include troubleshooting issues with drug testing vendor.
  • Generating internal documents such as offer letters for non-exempt staff, comprehensive action forms (CAFs), field employee counseling statements, job descriptions and various ad hoc reports.
  • Manages compliance reporting, requests for information, and includes handling payroll history requests, miscellaneous government reports (Medicare/Medicaid and other Human Resources inquiries).
  • Continually evaluates processes to ensure processes continue to be effective, reflect best practices and remain in compliance with applicable employment rules and regulations.
  • Maintains awareness of current trends in HR with a focus on compliance and service delivery and support; and supports the application of key concepts.
