The Suncoast Communities Blood Bank will be in the Take Care of Sarasota parking lot waiting for your to donate your blood! Please join us in reaching our goal of 15 donors. There will be a sign up sheet in the Sarasota office to schedule an appointment for Friday's blood drive. You do not have to sign up in advance, but it will make the donating process go faster so you are not waiting in line. It takes approximately 30 minutes of your time to donate blood. According to SCBB, one donation helps save up to three lives.
On Saturday, May 14, 2011, Penny Billings, RN, OCN, and Alicia Uelmen, RN led the "Caregiver Idol: Understanding Aging in Our Communities" workshop as part of USF Sarasota-Manatee's 3rd Annual S.T.E.M Summit. From the Sarasota Herald Tribune article: "Aiming for success in careers that once seemed out of reach for girls is exactly what is encouraged at the annual Girls S.T.E.M. Summit, which was Saturday at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee. The daylong event exposed nearly 150 middle school girls to studies and jobs in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics."
As part of Take Care Private Duty Home Health Care's continued 15th Anniversary Health and Wellness celebrations, we are sponsoring a blood drive on Friday, March 5, 2010, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Suncoast Communities Blood Bank will be at Take Care of Sarasota located at 3982 Bee Ridge Road, Building H, Suite A. Take Care invites all caregivers, family members, and office staff: please consider donating.
Take Care Private Duty Home Health Care and Take Care Advisor have partnered with the American Red Cross to help victims affected by the earthquake in Haiti. If you wish to support the cause, collection boxes are located at each of Take Care's offices, in Sarasota, Manatee, and Venice. All donations will be matched by Susanne S. Wise, RN, MBA of Take Care. Any donation, whether $2 or $20 will support relief efforts. Help Take Care reach its goal of sending a ShelterBox to Haiti earthquake victims.
My wife had recent surgery and needed care around the clock. The support I received from the office nurse on care placement was exceptional. The care provided 12 hours nightly by the nurse, Stacy, was superb. She was above and beyond professional. We could not have done it with out her. Thanks to all involved.
