Dr. Carolyn Farrell, EdD, MBA, BS, RN

Clinical Services Administrator

As Clinical Services Administrator for Take Care, Dr. Carolyn Farrell, EdD, MBA, BS, RN, leads and directs the nursing department for the entire agency.  In addition, she monitors all clients’ care while developing internal policies and processes to support Home Health industry standards.

Carolyn brings to Take Care a belief in continuous learning as seen over her extensive career. She began her nursing career over 45 years ago in an Internal Medicine practice where she was able to see all the details of running an office, broadening her scope as a nurse. She then transitioned to a large hospital system where she was responsible for 26 medical practices. It was there she recognized a need to further her education, adding business and financial skills, resulting in the pursuit of her Master’s in Business Administration. Over the years she continued to develop her leadership skills in a variety of academic, administrative, and patient care settings including as Administrator for a private duty agency in the Clearwater area and the Administrator of a Nursing College. She holds a Doctorate in Education, an MBA, and a Bachelor’s in Health Care Administration in addition to her Registered Nurse credentials.

Carolyn’s journey has also been one of giving back. Combining her passion for world travel with nursing has led to multiple humanitarian efforts, providing medical care to those in need—sometimes for the first time in their lives—in various parts of the world. She has traveled to various parts of Africa, including Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda, as well as the Central American countries of Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, and Haiti.

With a career grounded in a deep care for others that has taken her all over the world, it was Take Care’s reputation for providing excellent care that inspired Carolyn’s move to join our team. Heading Take Care’s Nursing Department, she continues to demonstrate her values and desire to provide competent and compassionate care. Additionally, with her teaching background, she provides valuable oversight of the education and training of all caregivers, enabling each to consistently provide the gold-standard of care Take Care is known for.

What Our Clients Have to Say

My wife had recent surgery and needed care around the clock. The support I received from the office nurse on care  placement was exceptional. The care provided 12 hours nightly by the nurse, Stacy, was superb. She was above and beyond professional. We could not have done it with out her. Thanks to all involved.
